The EA multilateral agreement (EA MLA) is an agreement signed between the members of the European Accreditation by which the signatories recognize and accept the equivalence of the accreditation systems managed by all signatory members, as well as the reliability of the results of the conformity assessment provided by Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) accredited by signatory members.

The market acceptance of the multilateral agreement and thus of the conformity assessment results provided by CABs accredited by the signatories of the multilateral agreement is of fundamental importance for the internal market in Europe in order to facilitate cross-border trade and to demonstrate compliance with European legislation for products and services as well as contributing to the protection of health, safety and the environment.

Accredia is the Italian national accreditation body designated by the Italian government responsible for certifying the competence, independence and impartiality of certification bodies and laboratories that verify the conformity of goods and of services to national and international standards.

ESYD is the Hellenic National Accreditation Body, responsible for assessing the competence and capacity of organizations providing certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
